Conejo Valley Meal and Shelter Program

Every night, one of our area houses of faith provides a meal for those in need. During winter months, an overnight shelter is added. For nearly twenty years, this program has served hundreds annually; it is essential to our community, which lacks any permanent shelter facilities. Some Meal and Shelter guests are LSS’s homeless clients. Some have homes but need the evening meal to help make ends meet. Some guests are unemployed, many are not. All are served with love and dignity by committed church and synagogue volunteer teams. An estimated 1000 volunteers touch this program each year. LSS provides coordinating management of the program, and is especially grateful to these Meal and Shelter hosts: Temple Adat Elohim (Su), Holy Trinity Church (M), Calvary Community Church (T), Westminster Presbyterian Church (W), Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (Th), Thousand Oaks United Methodist Church (F), and St. Julie’s Billiart Catholic Church (Sa).
